Lumi

Emily, Jason and I headed to Lumi last night for some dinner. The restaurant is located on McKinney Avenue in Uptown right next to Primo's. As you can see from the picture, it is located in a renovated house. The place is precious! There was a wrap around patio that you could sit on, or there is plenty of room on the inside as well. We opted for the inside since it was a bit chilly.

View from our table on the inside. Here is a view from the inside of Lumi. It is very sleek and modern. We arrived around 7 and by 8 0'clock the place was completely full. Cocktails were in order immediately. Emily ordered the Lychee martini. It was really good- almost like the red gummy bear. Yummy! I had a glass of Chardonnay. Thankfully, they gave me a nice amount for 7.50. Don't you hate it when they overcharge for a tiny portion?!? This was worth the money for sure! We started off by ordering the portobello fries. They were wonderful! Then we ordered the beef and potato empanadas and the mozzarella empanadas. They were both really good. All three entrees came with two different dipping sauces. They both had a kick to them, but complemented the items nicely.
Portobello fries

Overall, I would recommend this place for a cocktail and appetizers. The atmosphere was great and the food was, too! Apparently, on Wednesday evenings they offer happy hour prices. Tonight might be your lucky night!
