Another place I tried while at the Texas Library Convention this week was "The Grove". The Grove is located at 1611 Lamar - right across the street from the convention center...but that setting might seem misleading.
The Grove is a glass tree house type of building nestled amidst the trees
and natural setting of a park.
Once inside, you are surrounded by tall glass windows and greenery.
We were seated and immediately served sea salted almonds. We were famished from our endless walk through the exhibitors hall, so we quickly ate the almonds before I thought to snap a photo...
Everything on the menu has a healthy feel to it (you can view the menu yourself by clicking on "The Grove" at the top of the page).
I settled on the Side-By-Side: Soup-Salad-Toast.
And while the toast was just a crisp grilled baguette sans accoutrement, the arugula/pear/blue cheese/pecan salad was delicious and the root vegetable soup hit the spot.
If you visit the Convention center, I would definitely put this on my lunch list. It seemed like a healthful presentation of wholesome foods!
