Cote D'Azur

Last weekend we celebrated Easter with dad's side of the family...and since everyone lives East of Dallas, we headed over to Rockwall. Mom suggested the place, Cote D'Azur, and it is quite a find!! Nestled into the area known as The Harbor, you can almost picture yourself enjoying lunch on the REAL Cote D'Azur.

Katie and I were shocked to find that the menu offers a three course meal for either $12 or $15. Normally, with prices like that, you wouldn't expect too much. After all, that is a deal...a great value in tough times.

We started with the first course with Mushroom Soup and we were already in love.
Cream based with wonderful flavor, we worked our way to the bottom of the bowl with aplomb.

The main course offered crepes with different types of fillings. Katie chose the Crepe Suzette, a chicken crepe. The presentation was darling, it looked like a little dough purse, tied together with a scallion string.

I ordered the crab cake served with mozzarella ravioli and creamed corn. This combination was amazing and I was hard pressed to save room for our final course.

In the end, I am so glad that I did. The dessert souffle was AMAZING. Definitely my favorite part of an already delicious meal!! I had the Banana Foster Souffle and the flavor blend plus light nature of this dessert made it a hit. This dish is served hot with a little dish of fresh whipped cream on the side...pure Heaven.

The only thing better than the souffle was the tab. When everything was said and done, this lunch was less expensive than my previously blogged cheese sandwich meal! Incredible.

As a final note, the staff was so friendly. Every need was met with kindness and a smile. It was great service, great food, and an overall great time.

Good job finding this little jewel, Mom!!
